"The Dutch Reformed Church, in Woodward Street, was not only a church - it was 'community'. At one stage there was a full-time minister, then they'd get a Dutch minister up from Sydney for the services. After the service you'd go to a Dutch house for Dutch coffee and socialise with your friends."
