Embroidered Apron

This apron was taken to Austria by Anna Babij when she was deported from Ukraine during World War II. Decorative aprons were a traditional part of women's dress in many European countries. They are treasured symbols of family, cultural and national links, carrying these associations through the migration journey to Australia
